Ian Kelly Wherever he lays his guitar and microphone, Ian Kelly pleases and woos those present. It seems that each of his concerts wins him more fans who are charmed by his soft almost comforting folk. The Montreal native has just released his second album, Speak Your Mind. "Wiser Man," the first single, is poetic, introspective and catchy. Typically for Kelly, it illustrates a musical universe where organic and electro meet to form a modern folk sound.

The Brights Two established singer-songwriters and well-respected instrumentalists, Don Bray and Alyssa Wright play roots music, tinged with gospel, country and blues accompanied by guitar, cello, Hawaiian king, accordion, mandolin, cajon, and whatever new sounds have recently tickled their fancy. With soulful harmonies and sensitive arrangements, The Brights present original songs in an easygoing, timeless style, equally at home in kitchen party or concert hall. Colleague Paul Court put it best after The Brights' recent performance at the Barrie Performing Arts Centre: "A little him, a little her, a little them. Much more than the sum of the parts."

David Leask Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, David is a powerful performing songwriter, who has built an artistic bridge between the influences of his birthplace and the fresh possibilities of his newfound Canadian home to produce three critically-acclaimed CD's, one Juno nomination and a bag full of songwriting awards. His music explores the diverse landscapes of human emotion while combining the story-telling tradition of his homeland in his own fusion of Celtic soul and country-pop-rock.
Show starts at 9 pm. Admission is $6. (Free to City Roots members.)
Cameron House is located 408 Queen St W., Toronto (one block west of Spadina).
